ClementinaCares is a group of neighbors in the middle of SOMA who are working to make the neighborhood clean, green, and safe for all of us who live and work here. We focus on the area between 3rd and 6th Streets and Howard Street and Shipley Alley, which includes about 2,000 residents and businesses.
Our organization provides a unified voice for the people that live and work here to speak out on issues that impact our neighborhood, and to ensure that our community continues to move in a positive direction.
Our causes include reducing crime, promoting a clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing place to live and work, and to embrace the diversity of our funky back alley slice of San Francisco.
We're proud to achieve results: among other accomplishments, we have established janitorial contracts for daily street cleaning, organized a mural project, hosted block parties to bring neighbors together, and in in March of 2008, after months of work, we planted over 70 trees along our alleys with help from the good people at Friends of the Urban Forest. Keep an eye open for our latest news.
Information about our meetings is posted on our Blog. Our meetings are open to the public, so if you live or work in the area and are interested in what we do, please come to our next one!
ClementinaCares is organized by a volunteer Board of Directors. |
